As AI workloads drive greater computing density and heat generation, data center operators are looking beyond conventional air cooling to more efficient liquid-based approaches. It’s a shift that is occurring because liquid-based systems can improve heat transfer and reduce cooling energy use, which will be integral to enabling advanced AI infrastructure and helping operators meet efficiency and sustainability targets.

Against this backdrop, Kixx participated in the 2026 OCP Korea Tech Day, a major data center technology conference organized by the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation, which brings together industry experts and companies to discuss next-generation computing and data center infrastructure.

At this year’s event, Kixx showcased how its data center cooling portfolio is evolving alongside the industry to encompass a broader range of cooling fluids. Building on last year’s participation, which primarily focused on immersion cooling, the company presented both direct liquid cooling (DLC) and immersion cooling solutions, while also sharing new insights into Kixx DLC Fluid PG25 through a technical session.

At its dedicated booth, Kixx presented its broader liquid cooling portfolio under the message “Cooling the Future, Powering AI.” The display brought together Kixx DLC Fluid PG25 and products from the Kixx Immersion Fluid lineup — including Kixx Immersion Fluid S 30, Kixx Immersion Fluid S E, and Kixx Immersion Fluid S 5 — giving visitors a view of two major approaches to managing heat through liquid cooling in data center environments.

The booth featured coolant samples, liquid cooling hardware, and demonstration units, helping illustrate the role heat-transfer fluids play inside increasingly sophisticated cooling systems. The display was designed in collaboration with KoolMicro, a Korean startup specializing in direct liquid cooling, and SDT, the developer of the AquaRack liquid cooling system. Kixx and SDT collaborated on an immersion cooling system utilizing Kixx Immersion Fluid S, which provided a practical demonstration of the technology. Additionally, a promotional video depicting liquid-cooled server infrastructure in operation was shown, connecting the products on the booth floor with their practical use in data centers.

Kixx’s booth was part of a wider shift evident at the event and in the industry as a whole: AI servers are causing data center operators to increasingly consider fanless servers and more extensive full-system liquid cooling. By showcasing both DLC and immersion cooling technologies, Kixx emphasized that coolant performance and long-term reliability are becoming critical parts of data center thermal management.

Kixx’s technical session was titled “The Biostatic Propylene Glycol-Based Heat Transfer Fluid: Kixx DLC Fluid PG25.” During the presentation, Woo Kyun Synn, a manager at GS Caltex, outlined the changing cooling requirements of data centers and explained the role that different liquid cooling approaches and fluids can play in meeting them.

The key focus of the session was Kixx DLC Fluid PG25, a propylene glycol (PG)-based heat-transfer fluid developed with long-term DLC system reliability in mind. Synn highlighted key properties of the product, including low electrical conductivity, corrosion protection, and microbial growth inhibition, which help support stable operation in liquid-cooled data centers.

Kixx has evaluated the product’s performance against OCP guidelines and using industry test methods, which have shown it to have properties that address practical challenges within DLC systems, contributing to enhanced system protection and longer equipment life.

Building a Broader Liquid Cooling Portfolio

With solutions for both direct liquid cooling and immersion cooling, Kixx is addressing a broader range of thermal management needs for next-generation data centers.

Kixx has steadily expanded its data center cooling lineup in recent years, launching Kixx Immersion Fluid S in 2023 and Kixx DLC Fluid PG25 in 2025. Beyond product development, Kixx has also been working with technology partners across both cooling approaches. In immersion cooling, the company worked with SDT to implement an immersion cooling system at Seoul Data Center. In direct liquid cooling, Kixx is conducting evaluation tests of Kixx DLC Fluid PG25 with KoolMicro and other relevant partners.

Kixx has also showcased its liquid cooling technology on the global stage. In March 2026, the brand presented its immersion cooling technology together with LG U+ at MWC in Barcelona, Spain.

DLC and immersion cooling use different system architectures, but both reflect the same underlying challenge for the industry: removing more heat efficiently and reliably as AI places greater demands on data center infrastructure.

The program at 2026 OCP Korea Tech Day also pointed to a wider industry trend toward more extensive liquid cooling across entire systems, in which system design and coolant selection become increasingly interconnected. By combining fluid technology development with advanced testing, Kixx is working to address cooling performance as well as the durability and stability required for next-generation data centers.

“In the coming years, AI infrastructure will continue to advance at a rapid pace, and direct liquid cooling will become a standard consideration for many new data centers,” said Synn. “Accordingly, the selection of cooling fluid will matter more than ever. Factors like thermal performance, material compatibility, corrosion protection, safety, and sustainability will all be critical to long-term system reliability and lower total cost of ownership.”
