Who We Are

Kixx’s parent company, GS Caltex, was founded in 1967 as Korea’s first private oil refiner.
Since then, the company has set a new standard of excellence in the Korean petroleum industry,
and it continues to play a vital role in driving exports of oil and petroleum products.

Now, with a total of 14 branches in 11 countries, and through continuous investment in the petroleum and petrochemical industry,

Expansion

GS Caltex establishes new branches and corporations in India (2010), China (2012) and Russia (2012), and increases the production capacity of its Yeosu base oil factory.

In 2012, the company receives an award from the Korean government for reaching $25 billion in exports.

2007

Construction is completed on GS Caltex’s Yeosu base oil plant, which features a daily output of 16,000 barrels.
After achieving a daily output of 23,000 barrels in 2009,
the Yeosu base oil plant’s production capacity expands to 26,000 barrels in 2011.

Kixx

In March, the company formerly known as LG-Caltex Oil Refinery becomes GS Caltex. Six months later, GS Caltex introduces Kixx – a new lubricant brand for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles.

A new lube oil blending plant commences operations in Incheon, west of Seoul. The 80,000-square-meter plant is roughly
the size of 11 soccer fields, and produces 9,000 barrels
of lubricants per day, as well as 8,000 tons of grease per year.
