Kixx, GS Caltex’s lubricant brand, is proud to announce a new line-up of premium engine oil formulated to optimize today’s vehicle engines and meet the latest standards issued by the American Petroleum Institute (API).

With better fuel economy and power output, gasoline direct injection (GDI) and turbocharged gasoline direct injection (T-GDI) engines have become increasingly popular in today’s vehicles. However, these modern, downsized engines are susceptible to Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI), an abnormal combustion event that takes place in the combustion chamber prior to spark ignition. LSPI can cause damage to key engine components. In addition, excessive wear in the timing chain can reduce performance and increase emissions.

Kixx’s all-new SP product line-up combines superior base oils with high-performance additives and viscosity index improver to meet the increasing demands of today’s automotive engine technology. Engineered to meet the new API SP standards, the lubricant prevents the occurrence of LSPI and protects the timing chain from wear.

Boasting enhanced timing chain protection and LSPI prevention, the latest additions to Kixx’s product line-up not only meet the new SP requirements but far exceed the performance of existing products in every aspect. The new engine oils help reduce total costs of ownership by protecting and extending the service life of turbochargers and exhaust gas aftertreatment systems, such as Three-Way Catalysts (TWC). Thanks to its excellent base oils and additives, the engine oils also maintain optimal viscosity and minimize the effects of oxidation. With excellent low temperature characteristic, Kixx’s new SP product line ensures smoother engine operations at the initial startup. Kixx’s latest lubricant products are formulated with the company’s proprietary Triple Double Technology to deliver stable engine performance and durability.

The following products will be launching in global markets starting from August 3. Specific launch dates and availability may vary by product and region.

• Kixx G1 SP (Fully synthetic) – 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40, 5W-50 (Available from August 2020)
• Kixx G1 SP (Semi-synthetic) – 10W-30, 10W-40, 20W-50 (Available from October 2020)
• Kixx G1 SP (Fully synthetic) – 0W-16, 0W-20, 0W-30 (Available from December 2020)
